NEW ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES

TRAFFIC PATTERN FOR STUDENT DROP OFF/PICK UP

NEW!! PROCEDURES FOR CAR RIDERS DURING DISMISSAL

Principal's Message
Stevenson Parents & Community,

The school year is off to a great start. Our new 3rd grade students have demonstrated that they are settling into routines and we see many leaders in 3rd 4th and 5th grade!

This year we are emphasizing the paradigm Everyone Can Be A Leader! Our PAWS...itive Leaders Recognition System is new. When an adult sees a class or a student demonstrating leadership they may be recognized with a PAW. The Paws are displayed outside or near the classrooms and at the end of the month the classrooms with the most PAWs earn a celebration (For example, on October 4th classes earned a Pajama Day for their leadership!).

Achievements:
We are excited to share that Ella Snow, (currently a 6th grader) was honored by the American Legion Auxiliary Post 85 with the Americanism Award. As a 5th grade student Ella wrote an essay explaining what Americanism means to her. Her essay was selected by the American Legion Auxiliary State Selection Committee as the winner in her age category for the entire state of Ohio --well done Ella!

Our summer math challenge students were recognized! All students were challenged during the summer to log on to Kahn Academy or Zearn and complete a math lesson every day to meet 100% of the math challenge.
• In 3rd grade 18 students participated and 5 students met 100%.
• In 4th grade 16 students participated and 6 students met 100%.
• In 5th grade 17 students participated and 7 students met 100%.
All of these students were recognized at a fall School Board Meeting!

On November 12, 2018 Mrs. Lutz, 5th grade teacher was recognized by the Licking County Foundation for her excellence in education.  Mrs. Lutz received the Leaders for Learners Award for her outstanding instruction in Writing, Reading, Language Arts and Social Studies.  Congratulations Mrs. Lutz!

Finally, our district is celebrating 50 consecutive years of Resident Outdoor Education. Our 5th grade students were treated to a special celebration dinner while at Camp Ohio. A special thank you to our teachers led by Mrs. Day and Mrs. Lutz for making camp an extremely enjoyable learning experience.

Winter Weather Reminder:
As colder temperatures arrive please be sure your student is dressed for the weather. Students do go outside for recess when the temperature is above 20 degrees.

We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming Holiday Programs on December 19th.
