Facilities
Facility Management
Heath City Schools is expecting our district to grow in the near future, and we have some facility needs to accommodate that growth. While our attempt at a levy renewal and bond issue to begin building for our future was not successful in March 2024, we do still believe that it is necessary to continue planning.

Facility Master Planning

Our Facilities Master Planning Process
Heath City Schools is dedicated to developing a community-centered Facilities Master Plan, with our planning partner Garmann Miller helping to guide us in this process throughout the 2024–25 school year. The goal is to thoroughly evaluate the district’s facilities and make well-informed recommendations for improvements that will benefit Heath’s students, staff and community. Below is an overview of the key components involved in our master planning process:

Facilities Task Force
This group consists of a diverse mix of community members, parents, district staff and school administrators who meet regularly to collaboratively draft a Facilities Master Plan. The task force plays a vital role in shaping the plan by assessing current needs, establishing priorities, reviewing options and considering community feedback. Its work may result in a formal recommendation to the Heath Board of Education for future facility improvements.

Educational Visioning
Comprised of teachers and other educational staff, this team can rotate participants at each meeting to bring fresh perspectives from across grade levels and subject areas. Their insights ensure that the master plan reflects the daily needs and aspirations of Heath’s educators, contributing valuable input on classroom layouts, learning environments, and resources that support effective teaching and student engagement.

Community Meetings
These open meetings are opportunities for all community members to stay informed and provide feedback. During these sessions, the district will present information and updates gathered from task force discussions and Educational Visioning sessions. Community meetings offer transparency in the planning process and encourage active involvement, ensuring the master plan aligns with the community’s vision and priorities.

Building Tours
Task Force members will tour newly constructed school buildings in other districts to gain insights into modern educational facilities. These tours help members visualize the potential for Heath City Schools by exploring innovative designs, flexible learning spaces, and enhanced safety features. Observing these facilities firsthand supports informed decision-making and sparks ideas for creating spaces that align with the district’s goals.

Together, these efforts ensure that the Facilities Master Plan is both visionary and practical, representing the voices and values of the entire Heath community. Through collaborative planning, Heath City Schools aims to create facilities that serve students well today and in the future. Keep an eye on this page for regular updates as the process progresses!
