Learning is a lifelong process. That’s why we work to develop intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities and aesthetic appreciation. These skills support students’ success in school and throughout their lives.
As we develop the curriculum for the district we strive toward a balanced, integrated and sequential system that provides a strong foundation and grows students’ ability to learn independently. We consider the wide range of developmental needs, learning styles and abilities of all students. And we continually re-assess our offerings to increase opportunities for student growth and learning.
A few examples of our commitment to advancing our curriculum include:
- The Leader In Me in our elementary school buildings which helps students develop leadership skills and workplace goals.
- Our incredible partnership with C-tec which allows us to provide a STEM class for 8th graders and a Career Connections class for 7th graders.
- Educational Field Trips like the 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C. and 5th grade Camp Ohio that help students learn in real world environments.
- Teacher training in evidence-based practices and aligned approaches from Kindergarten through 12th grade in our Math courses.
- More AP (Advanced Placement) Courses and College Credit Plus offerings for our high school students
