Student Day – 8:45 am to 3:25 pm
Teacher Day- 8:10 am to 3:40 pm
School Day
- Breakfast: 8:45 (cafeteria doors open)
- Main doors open: 8:45
- Tardy Bell: 8:55
- 3rd Grade Lunch: Mon.-Fri. 11:00-11:40AM
- 4th Grade Lunch: Mon.-Fri. 11:45-12:20PM
- 5th Grade Lunch: Mon.-Fri. 12:25-1:05PM
**Only the first 30 minutes is for eating. - Dismissal: 3:25 pm
Absence
If your student must be absent, call the Attendance Number, 740.238.7100 before 8:45AM and share:
- Student’s name
- Grade
- Teacher’s name
- Reason for absence
- If homework will be picked up
Tardy
Tardy is 8:55 am. When tardy, students must report to the office with a parent or guardian present.
Dropping Off
Students should not enter school grounds until 8:45. If students are dropped off, they need to remain in their car until they have pulled up to the side doors where they will be met by staff members on duty.
Arrival Procedures
Buses will be using Cynthia Street entrance and dropping off our students at the front entrance of the building. Parents who are driving to school and dropping off students please use Lancaster Drive entrance and form a line that will extend down Lancaster Drive. At 8:45 AM there will be two staff members who will be posted at the door at the north end of the building (this door is to the left of the double gym doors). The staff members will dismiss the students from the cars in a quick and organized manner. Once your child is out of the car we will have cones blocking off 6 or so parking spaces for you to pull up and through to exit back down Lancaster Drive.
Picking Up
When possible, send a note in advance to the student’s teacher. Come to the school office to sign out your student. We’ll call the student to meet you in the office.
Dismissal Procedures
If you are picking up your child at the end of the day, please be sure the green name placard is displayed in the windshield so that staff members can easily read your child’s name. Please use Lancaster Drive entrance and form a line that will extend down Lancaster Drive much like the morning drop off. Please be courteous to our Heath neighbors by not blocking their driveways or intersections. At 3:25 PM there will be two staff members who will be posted at the door at the north end of the building. The staff members will dismiss the students from the gym to your car. (Parents will no longer enter the building to pick up their child. For our 3rd grade parents this student pick up is much like the Garfield pick up procedure). Once your child is safely in the car please exit using Cynthia Street.
Again, our children’s safety is our primary concern. Walkers will be dismissed after the majority of the traffic has dispersed.
Your personalized Green Car Placard for Pick Up was provided in your start of school packet. Please see your child’s teacher if you do not have a Green Card with your child’s name on it.
Visiting
When visiting the school, come to the main entrance and press the button to the right of the main doors. This will allow our secretary to connect with you and let you into the building. Then, report to the main office to sign in and obtain a visitor’s pass.
