Dear Heath High School Students, Families and Guardians,
It is hard to believe the 2018-2019 school year is coming to a close. With state testing now complete, our students can focus on ending the year focused and on a positive note. The purpose of this letter is to provide some guidance on some important dates and reminders for the end of the year schedules. Please review the information below with your high school student carefully and do not hesitate to reach out to us with questions or concerns. May 31st | Bulldog Bash* | School-wide fundraising event for three different charitable causes, The Brooke Bebout Scholarship, the Matthew Offers Scholarship and the Alzheimer's Foundation. This is an opportunity for our seniors to give back to our school and raise money for a good cause while providing an opportunity for our students to enjoy a stress free last day at school after all examinations are completed. |
May 31st | Last day of school: 2-hour early release bell schedule. | |
*Entrance to Bulldog Bash will be $10.00 per student. This $10.00 will provide the student with entrance into a morning and afternoon event of their choosing as well as giving them 5 extra tickets which they can use for snacks and beverages or to enter a raffle for various prizes. Extra tickets will be available for sale at the cost of $1.00 per ticket.

Why have them?
Final exam schedules were common place in Heath for many years. When state-mandated testing was increased, we decided to scale back end of semester final exams. However, after eliminating them we received feedback from HHS alumni that a lack of final exam schedules in high school did not adequately prepare college-bound students for the final exam schedules of college. In an effort to prepare students for the future and keep their learning and growing a priority in May, all teachers will offer a meaningful exam or project during the final exam periods.

Expectations:
Students are only required to be at school during the time of their specific exams. If students have study hall or a lunch during one of their periods, they are not required to be here. We understand that many students, due to transportation, will be here all day. There will be study rooms and locations for students to go during any period in which they do not have a class or lunch session. Students must arrive to school on time for each exam. If you do not wish to allow your student to leave in between exams on Monday or Tuesday, please send a note into the school or email Mrs. Croom with this request.
