Hello Heath Schools Community,
As you may be aware, Heath City Schools is expecting our district to grow in the near future, and we have some facility needs to accommodate that growth. While our last attempt at a levy renewal and bond issue to begin building for our future was not successful, we do still believe that it is necessary to continue planning.
With that said, we are forming a Facilities Planning Task Force to establish priorities, evaluate options, and provide valuable input on our district’s facilities. We will focus on the condition of our buildings, projected growth, curriculum needs, and financial considerations. It will be an open, transparent process with no predetermined outcomes, with the goal of coming to a consensus and presenting outcomes to the Board of Education. Our facility planning partners from Garmann Miller will be on hand to guide us through collaborative group activities and other interactive sessions that will help develop a community-centered plan that reflects our collective goals for the future of Heath City Schools. We will start with two, 90-minute meetings in the Heath Middle School Auditorium on the following dates:
- Wednesday, October 16, at 6:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, November 13, at 6:00 p.m. - NEW DATE IS November 6
To give a complete picture of the commitment, there will be two additional meetings (dates TBD) and opportunities to tour buildings in other districts for information and idea gathering.
We hope to bring together staff, parents, alumni, board members, business leaders, and other community stakeholders to help plan the future of Heath City Schools. It is extremely important to us that a cross-section of individuals from various backgrounds, roles, and perspectives within the Heath Schools community are involved.
On behalf of the District and Board of Education, we would like to invite you to become a member of the Facilities Planning Task Force. We know you could add value to the process and the product. We only ask for your willingness to fully participate and be involved in a process that will positively impact each of our students, staff, and community members.
To confirm your commitment, please visit this link. If you do not use Google, please respond to Diana Myers at 740-238-7110 or [email protected].
Thank you in advance for your consideration. Your time and insight will help shape our direction; we hope you’ll join us.
Sincerely,
Trevor Thomas, Ed.D.
