Over the last few years, there’s been increased focus on preparing our students for life after high school through college and career readiness programs. The goal of these programs is to help students better understand a wide variety of career options and the preparation needed for different careers while at the same time, exposing them to career resources that will support their success. Recently a committee that included staff from the high school, middle school and district office worked together to outline how college and career readiness is built into our school curriculum to ensure our students are ready to achieve their goals.
We are also fortunate to have a partnership with CTEC (Career and Technology Education Centers) that includes teachers who work with our Middle School students using software called Project Lead the Way to support a Career Connections course for our 7th graders and a STEM course for 8th graders.
